Q - How long will electrolysis take?
A - The time length for treatment has many factors, including but not limited to the size of the area being treated, the density of hair follicles, hormonal changes, and the patient’s compliance with the treatment plan and aftercare. A good rule of thumb is to expect an hour a week (or every other) for at least four months, again, depending on area and follicle density.

Q - How does electrolysis work?
A - A probe is carefully slid along the hair’s route and into the follicle. An electric current is applied that creates heat and chemical reactions to destroy the follicle's capacity to produce another hair. It is the only hair removal method that is permanent.

Q - What should my skin look like after a treatment?
A – Immediately following the electrolysis hair removal treatment, there may be temporary redness or tenderness, which varies with each individual.  This is normal. The last portion of your treatment session includes "cataphoresis" which has an immediate calming effect on the skin. Cataphoresis reduces redness and restores the pH balance of the skin in order to prevent infection. You will also be given aftercare instructions.

Q - What should I do about noticeable hair problems between treatments?
A – Stop all tweezing and waxing immediately. It can distort your follicles and may even nourish stronger, coarser hair in the wounded area as it heals.  Cutting the hair with scissors or shaving is the best method, but don't shave within 48 hours before an appointment so your electrologist will have a hair shaft long enough to grasp.
